TOWARDS – AWAY

A towards-away conflict occurs when we want something and don’t think we can have it for whatever reason. For example, let us say you have been thinking about setting up a business and leaving your job.

You believe it is the best thing to do, but you are worried you are not financially stable enough to pursue the idea. For example, you may set up a business on the side, run it for years, and yet stay at your job for a steady income.

Even though you consciously know that you can create more income from 100% focus on your business. Or, you may consistently find yourself with more unexpected expenses to prove that you are not financially stable enough to leave your job.

Either way, you’re stuck between POSITIVE and NEGATIVE emotions or beliefs charged with NEGATIVE emotions.
